At least 800,000 vulnerable adults are abused in England each year. Some of the abusers do not realise the abusive nature of their actions. This 3 hour course helps define the limits of what is and what isn’t acceptable behaviour. In a recent study 80% of nursing home staff reported seeing abuse but only 2% reported it. This course will also outline the key pieces of legislation designed to safeguard vulnerable people. We will also examine how the Protection of Freedoms Act 2012 has modified the safeguarding arrangements and the duties placed upon people to protect the vulnerable.
