Dementia is more common in people who have Down’s syndrome. Those with other learning disabilities are 5-times more of developing dementia than the general population. Dementia can be a difficult condition to diagnose without any other co-existing problems. Any unnecessary delays will affect their well-being. This 3-hour course is designed for those involved in the care of people with a learning disability to enable them to spot the early signs of dementia and have confidence they are providing the most appropriate, up to date care for them.
